Building the Future: Transforming Libraries for Sustainability through Capacity Building is the proceedings volume of the 69th Annual ILA International Conference, held from 1–3 February 2024 at Gauhati University, Guwahati, Assam. The conference was organized by the Indian Library Association (ILA), New Delhi, in collaboration with the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University, Krishna Kanta Handiqui Library, and the Assam Library Association (ALA). The proceedings bring together peer-reviewed research papers that examine the transformation of libraries through sustainable practices, digital technologies, capacity building, artificial intelligence, green libraries, community engagement, sustainable collection development, data management, library architecture, ICT applications, bibliometrics, and emerging innovations, emphasizing the role of libraries in supporting sustainable development and future-ready information services.
